International expert in Functional Medicine (also known as 'integrative medicine'), Dr Kristi Hughes, ND has been appointed DNA's Chief Medical Advisor. Dr Hughes is Associate Director of Medical Education for the US-based Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM), where she contributes to the development and teaching of the Functional Medicine Certification Program and Functional Nutrition Course.

Dr Jack Kornberg, a US-Board certified consultant with a career spanning three decades and over 15 years direct experience in Functional Medicine, will relocate from the US to take the role of Medical Director of Saadiyat Island's 'DNA Center for Integrative Medicine & Wellness'. Also US Board-certified - in internal medicine and nephrology - and with a special interest and passion for the integration of advanced western medicine with Eastern traditional healing modalities, Dr Nasim Ashraf will support the DNA centre team as its Integrated Medicine practitioner.

Bringing an added depth of complementary medicine expertise to the centre, Dr Joshua Berka, Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Acupuncturist, specialises in the prevention and management of metabolic related chronic diseases and non-invasive treatment interventions for the management of pain. Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and the American Board of Pain Medicine, Dr Amir Qureshi is an international leader in pain management and rehabilitation, also specialising in interventional pain management, and will join the DNA team as its Pain Management Specialist.

A passionate advocate of Functional Medicine Based Nutrition providing a new paradigm for assessing and treating complex and chronic illness, Dr Lisa Portera-Perry, Nutritionist and Chiropractor, will be contributing her 25 years of clinical experience to the centre. Lifestyle Coach and Functional Medicine Nutritionist, Elizabeth DiMeo, will further augment the DNA centre's holistic approach to providing client guests with tailored, individual programmes to support their journey to wellness.

Adding a fourth dimension to Abu Dhabi's 'DNA Centre for Integrative Medicine & Wellness', in addition to its clinical and preventive offerings, is its dedicated bio-aesthetics division, which will be headed by renowned bio-aesthetician to the Hollywood stars and US television celebrity, Jamie Sherrill. Jamie is a registered nurse and co-owner of Santa Monica's Beauty Park Medical Spa, and will be bringing her exclusive treatments, products and expertise for the first time to the region. She will be joined by fellow bio-aesthetician, Dorrie Emrick.

A first-of-its-kind in the region, Abu Dhabi's 'DNA Center for Integrative Medicine & Wellness' on Saadiyat Island will provide a series of 21st century integrative medicine and wellness modalities in a singular luxurious state-of-the-art facility in The Collection retail complex of the St.Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi.
