The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Authority ('DMCC'), the licensing authority for the Jumeirah Lakes Towers ('JLT') Free Zone, announced today that is has registered 612 companies in the first four months of 2012, over 100 of which were those from India. JLT has attracted entities such as Reliance Industries, Veedol International, Raj Petrochemicals, Malayalam Communications and Simbhaoli Sugar.

Recognising the demand for companies in India wishing to expand their presence in the Middle East, the JLT Free Zone will launch its 2012 India road show with several events in New Delhi and Mumbai between the 8th and 11th May 2012. The aim of the event is to highlight Dubai as the Middle East's leading business and trade hub, and assist Indian companies in setting up their businesses in the Emirate. JLT offers fit-for-purpose infrastructure, value added products and services, and incentives such as 0% Tax Guaranteed for 50 years and 100% business ownership, as well as being the fastest growing free zone in Dubai.

James Bernard, Business Development Director, DMCC, commented:"India is a huge market for us and over the past months and years we have been fortunate enough to attract a large number of Indian businesses and entrepreneurs to Dubai. These road shows are designed to provide a platform for interested companies and individuals in India to come and meet with us and even to start registering their companies there and then on location in Delhi and Mumbai.

We have always challenged ourselves to set new records and this year is no exception. Registering a record 200 new companies in April is testimony to our successful business strategy.

Our solid growth clearly highlights Dubai's position as the leading business destination in the region as well as our position as the fastest growing free zone in the UAE."

The JLT Free Zone which registered a record 184 new companies in March and another record breaking 200 new companies in April is firmly focused on India as part of its business development strategy. There are currently over 4,200 companies registered with the Free Zone, over 700 of which are from India.
