"Radio frequency identification solutions are poised to take off over the next few years," says Tarek Hassaniyeh, sales manager, Symbol Technologies Middle East and Africa.
"There are potential RFID applications in virtually every market, especially where traceability of products and goods tracking are an integral part of the business. Some large retailers are currently piloting RFID, but the logistics, manufacturing and back-office end of the retail chain are where the benefits will be most pronounced. There is tremendous interest in this technology in the region and we will showcase our RFID solutions live at Gitex."
Along with its channel partners, Symbol will also demonstrate various applications like retail inventory management, warehouse management, and sales automation for distribution companies. The company aims to further develop its channel centric strategy and is targeting vertical markets like transportation and logistics, distribution, oil and gas, utilities, healthcare and aviation.
"High-end wireless networking and mobility options are creating a wide range of mobile computing applications that will contribute to the profitability and effectiveness of the operations of regional companies. The adoption of wireless technology in the Middle East is increasing," explains Hassaniyeh.
"Symbol is taking critical steps to continue to tightly integrate security and management into all products, which will ensure transparency and mainstream adoption of enterprise mobility. Gitex is an ideal opportunity for us to track industry trends in the region as it includes the best-of-breed suppliers of software, hardware, Internet solutions, networking and communications, and we look forward to our participation at the show," he adds.
