The Arabic service, which follows the successful launch of an English version earlier this year, gives viewers a quick and simple way of finding out full channel listings up to seven days in advance, as well as additional information about each movie, programme or episode selected.

Mike Whittaker, Showtime's Director of Engineering and Technology said:

'All Showtime subscribers now have access to a comprehensive and interactive TV Guide at the touch of a button. Selecting EPG on the remote control gives subscribers the ability to plan their viewing in advance while simultaneously watching their favourite shows.'

The EPG service is compatible with Showtime's Digital Video Recording (DVR) device, the Showbox, which is now available across the GCC. When combined with the Showbox, the on-screen EPG guide makes for highly personalised viewing, giving ultimate jurisdiction over what TV fans watch and when.

Through the Showbox device, viewers can press pause on their favourite shows and movies at any point and continue watching at their leisure. Similarly, if the viewer misses a scene or wants to watch it again, they can rewind the program and replay it - even in slow motion.

While the Showbox decoder is the latest generation of smart technology set to change the relationship viewers have with their television, the EPG makes using the cutting-edge technology quick and easy for everyone.

The introduction of EPG to all its customers throughout the Middle East reinforces Showtime's commitment to continually enhancing its service and confirms its position as the leading pay-TV network in the region.
