DCA appoints Al-Fahim Director of Finance

Mr. Al Fahim replaces M M K Nair, who has served the department for 36 years and has now been appointed as Advisor to the Director of Finance.

Mr Al-Fahim, a graduate from the faculty of finance at the Ain Shams University in Cairo, has served as the Internal Audit Director at the Department of Finance, Dubai Ruler's Court. He also worked as Deputy Director for performance and training and information system at Dubai Ruler's Court. Among his qualifications, he holds CPA, CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner, UK), CFC (Certified Financial Consultant, Canada) and ACL (Audit Command Language) Certified Trainer.

A co-founder of the UAE Accountants and Auditors Association, Mr. Al Fahim is a national representative at the AGCC E-Commerce Committee as well as the Vice President of UAE Chapter of CFE (USA). He is also the President of Institute of Internal Auditors UAE chapter.

"Maximising DCA revenues and minimising expenditure, without compromising on the quality of our services and facilities, remains my broader objective here. I would like to work to further the department's excellent track record, in line with international best practices, to ensure full and proper utilisation of all our resources," Mr. Al Fahim commented. He added that Dubai has been in the forefront of setting new benchmarks in almost all sectors, and his ultimate objective would be to make and maintain the department as the best of finance departments in the country.

The incoming director was welcomed by his counterparts in other departments as well as senior DCA officials, who assured him their full support and co-operation.
