Carrier launches Aquaforce large chiller range in the Middle East
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, October 30 - 2006 at 15:54
- PRESS RELEASE
Carrier Corp. today announced the launch of its latest air cooled chiller range, the 30XA Aquaforce TM, in the Middle East.
The chiller with screw compressors uses non-ozone depleting refrigerant HFC 134a and new micro-channel heat exchanger coil technology. In tests, Aquaforce TM achieved record part load seasonal energy efficiencies "IPLV" of 0.76 kW/ton (4.6 kW/kW) in average.
Highlighting the value addition to the regional HVAC/R industry, Aftab Khan, Managing Director, Building Systems & Services, Middle East, said, "The chiller suits the extreme climatic conditions in the Middle East. 30XA AQUAFORCE comprises a unique microchannel heat exchanger which enables it to operate with up to 30% less refrigerant."
30XA AQUAFORCE is being introduced by Carrier to governments, contractors, real estate companies and consultants in the region. "The industry's initial response to its energy efficient and non-ozone depleting features has been remarkable," Khan said.
Elaborating on the product, Pierre Crevat, Marketing Manager for Europe, Middle East & Africa said, "The 30XA AQUAFORCE chiller offers superior energy efficiency, greater durability and low noise. The micro-channel coil technology has been widely used in the automotive industry for some years, but this is the first time it has been applied in large chillers. It has been shown to increase heat transfer efficiency. The all-aluminum, brazed construction coils provide enhanced reliability through improved corrosion resistance.
30XA AQUAFORCE uses non-ozone depleting refrigerant R134a that benefits the Earth's ozone layer. The United Nations has previously reported that ozone depletion causes increased rates of skin cancer, eye diseases and eco-system disruptions.
The launch of 30XA AQUAFORCE is an important step in the expansion of Carrier's operations in the Middle East - a region that Carrier is focusing on for launching its newest technologies. High temperatures, major projects and new construction have fuelled huge demand in the HVAC/R segment. This rate of growth is set to gain momentum on the back of rapid progress by Middle Eastern economies.
The latest generation Carrier patented Flying Bird TM technology fans have also been incorporated to contribute to new standards in sound emission. Pro-Dialog TM controls with a touch screen interface and field serviceable compressors are further innovations.
The 30XA AQUAFORCE range of chillers with screw compressors is available in 20 sizes with capacities from 75 to 475 tons (270 kW to 1.7 MW) offering customers the widest range of high efficiency air-cooled chillers."
