Toshiba promotes Varghese to MEA Assistant General Manager

Toshiba Computer Systems Middle East has promoted Santosh Varghese to Assistant General Manager for the Middle East and Africa.

Supporting the regional general manager, Varghese will focus on effective business and product planning activities for the MEA region.

'Santosh Varghese has been with Toshiba for four years, and over this period, he has proven great loyalty to the Toshiba brand and commitment to developing marketing programs which have helped Toshiba maintain around 20 percent notebook market share,' said Ahmed Khalil, general manager, Toshiba Computer Systems Division, Middle East and Africa. 'Santosh is a great asset to Toshiba and will no doubt help the company towards even greater successes in his new role.'

Varghese moves into the newly created role from his position as Toshiba's Regional Sales and Marketing Manager, under which he was responsible for the sales and marketing activities for the GCC, in particular Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and the UAE.

'Toshiba Computer Systems' substantial growth in the Middle East and Africa over the past few years has given us the opportunity to appoint local sales and marketing experts in countries that are important to the ongoing success of the brand,'



said Khalil.

Varghese holds a bachelor's degree in communication and electronics engineering from the University of Bharathiar in South India. Before joining Toshiba, he was Channel Manager and Product Manager for Intel Servers at the Emirates Technology Company (EMITAC), where he was responsible for providing technical pre-sales support to the storage reseller channel and direct sales force and for technical pre-sales support to the reseller channel.
