Saud Al Amiri, chairman of Rasalmal Financial Publishing, said:
"The launch of an Arabic title providing information on personal finance and investments has been something that we have always wanted to do. We think with all the changes taking place in the region, especially the setting up of international markets, growing best practices and the rising awareness levels, it is the right time for the launch of MONEYworks Al Arabiya."
Al Amiri added that MONEYworks Al Arabiya will seek to provide information that will build value for its readers, while helping them to take advantage of increasing opportunities of investments in the region. It will also help them to understand the basics and importance of saving, insurance and investing in the right vehicles, he said.
"We want to reach out to the farthest corners of the region and engage Arabic speakers and readers in the fundamentals of saving and investing," he explained.
Rasalmal also announced taking its English UAE title, UAE MONEYworks, regional from December 2006. Al Amiri said that the "UAE" will be dropped from the masthead and the magazine will be titled MONEYworks with immediate effect. It will, however, continue to publish its MONEYworks Saudi edition, SAUDI MONEYworks in English.
"The decision to take UAE MONEYworks regional stems from the fact that the GCC region is integrating into a common market and common currency towards the end of the decade. We see this as a tremendous opportunity, as it will boost seamless cross-border flow of investments among countries and lead to growth. We want to continue to be an established regional English finance title when the integration takes place," said Al Amiri.
