The decision to exhibit at ADIPEC follows the success of Welsh companies at MEOS 2005, again lead by International Business Wales. To date, the show has generated £370,000 worth of deals and £480,000 worth of opportunities for the participating Welsh companies.
Companies attending ADIPEC include M & A Engineering, which provides on-site machinery & hydraulic bolt tensioning services including high-precision line boring.
Jonathan Mortimer from M & A, said: "Although M & A has not exported before, we have considerable international experience within the team especially in the Middle East. Therefore, it is an appropriate time for us to investigate the market and look to establish contacts in the region."
Lee Jennings, Vice President (Middle East), International Business Wales, said:
"By global standards Wales is a small country, but in the oil & gas sector it has the might to take on the world. In the last year Welsh oil and gas exports have increased by 48.7 per cent compared with the previous year - from £29 million to £44 million."
"In 2004, International Business Wales set up an office in Dubai to help increase the trade links between Wales and the Middle East. Since this office was established, Welsh exports to the region have soared: In 2003 Welsh exports to the UAE were £34 million, yet by 2005 this had increased to £210 million."
