From 1-8 November, Dubai Studio City's attractive incentives and cutting edge infrastructure will be showcased at the event that will bring together over 8,000 industry leaders from nearly 70 countries.

Participants will include acquisition and development executives, agents, directors, distributors, festival directors, financiers, film commissioners and producers involved with the motion picture industry who will converge for eight days of deal-making, screenings, seminars, red carpet premieres and networking.

Dr. Amina Al Rustamani, Executive Director Media, TECOM Investments said: "Dubai Studio City is keen on participating in such high profile global events that facilitate interaction with key players in the entertainment industry. AFM is an important forum that serves our outreach objectives and opens new communication channels with the international film making community."

As the head of DSC's delegation to AFM, Jamal Al Sharif, Manager of Dubai Studio City Manager will present a talk on 'Location Expo: National Perspectives' at a seminar that will bring together film commissioners and representatives from around the world to discuss film production incentives.

Al Sharif said: "AFM will help us develop new avenues for cooperation with leading filmmakers from Hollywood and around the globe. The event is an excellent platform for exchanging expertise and monitor development of the industry requirements. It enhances our capabilities to ensure that Dubai Studio City will not only cater to these requirements, but exceed filmmakers' expectations."

At the American Film Market, Dubai Studio City will promote its industry specific infrastructure and will raise awareness about the UAE's variety of locations that can ignite a filmmaker's imagination ranging from stunning futuristic cityscapes to traditional Arabic settings, marketplaces, deserts, rugged mountains and fascinating waterfronts.

Construction work on Phase 1 of Dubai Studio City will be complete by early 2007. It will include 18 boutique studios designed to suit the requirements of broadcasters and production companies. Sound stages, for major production operations, are also under development and will be operational by late 2007.
