ESR Technology was formerly the Engineering, Safety and Risk group of AEA Technology plc. Just over 12 months ago, along with a portfolio of other AEA businesses, it was acquired by Coller Capital.
Ian Weybourne, ESR Technology's Middle East Regional Director said,
"We've had more than 15 years experience in the Middle East but had historically served our clients remotely from the UK. This year, with our new more aggressive investment strategy, we took the decision to develop our permanent presence. The results have surpassed our expectations, with a healthy flow of business from existing and new clients. We are therefore looking to add to our executive team faster than we initially thought."
Weybourne said the company has begun the recruitment process, and is looking at local as well as international recruitment.
ESR Technology is represented in Abu Dhabi by EMDAD LLC. For more than twenty five years, EMDAD has been a key supplier to the booming UAE Oil and Gas sector. It now represents more than one hundred companies worldwide, bringing state-of-the-art technology to serve the expanding needs of the energy sector.
ESR Technology helps its customers to Ensure Asset Integrity; Improve Machine Reliability; and Manage Safety and Risk. The combination of ageing assets and massive capital expenditure on new production capacity in the Middle East means that ESR Technology's services are in high demand. ESR Technology's customers are drawn from right across the supply chain and include operating companies, engineering contractors and industry regulators.
Ian Weybourne, ESR Technology's Middle East Regional Director added, "Having a local technical presence means we can be much more responsive and cost effective for clients.
"Local technical delivery, supported by UK expertise where necessary, is the best way for us to support our customers. Our business is about developing an understanding of the issues clients face and building long-term business relationships. Over the next six months we will be undertaking a determined recruitment drive to help us continue our strong growth here in the Middle East."
Weybourne also confirmed that ESR Technology will be exhibiting at ADIPEC (stand 1300), the Middle East's largest oil and gas trade event, in Abu Dhabi from 5-8th November 2006.
