- PRESS RELEASE
TNT Express, the world's leading B2B express delivery company, has launched the Middle East's first 'Day Definite' service to Egypt from the UAE, guaranteeing customers the exact number of delivery days.
"Previously economy express shipments to Cairo were sent directly by air from all major cities in the GCC. Now, consignments can be transported by road first to Abu Dhabi from Bahrain, Kuwait or Saudi Arabia and then air-lifted to Eygpt," said Mark Pell, TNT's Managing Director, Gulf.
"While air freight provides quicker transit times, it's very expensive compared to road haulage which is almost half the price."
The daily Abu Dhabi-Cairo route is also part of TNT's strategy to double its Middle East Road Network (MERN) revenues over the next three years.
"TNT has the knowledge and experience of all the preferred routes at specific times of the day and night, excellent relationships with authorities at border points and a good understanding of import-export regulations throughout the region," added Pell.
Apart from its customs clearance expertise and day definite transit times, TNT's MERN also includes full track and trace technology, door-to-door delivery, one price for imports and exports, 24/7 customer service, GPS tracking and cost effective prices on heavy weight consignments.
