Canon launches 33 consumer products for its 2006 Autumn Collection

Canon Middle East announces the Autumn Collection range, introducing 33 new products to the region.
Some of the key aspects of the Canon Autumn Collection are the launch of a new standard for compact photo printing with the launch of the Compact Photo Printer SELPHY ES1, launch of the next-generation D-SLR - EOS 400D which is predicted to take the lead as the world's most popular camera, the world's smallest HDV1080i (High Definition Video) camcorder in HV-10E, the launch of new flagship of the Digital IXUS range - the Digital IXUS 900 Ti finished in precision-crafted titanium and the introduction of new intuitive user interface - the Easy-Scroll Wheel in PIXMA Photo All-in-Ones models and Pixma mini Compact Photo Printer.
"With the current lifecycle of consumer products running at under 6 months, demand for new products is at an all time high. To meet this demand Canon announces the launch of 33 new products in the Autumn Collection 2006 in Middle East," said Anurag Agrawal, General Manager - Sales and Marketing, CME.
Canon's product announcement highlights for autumn 2006 include:
• Selphy Compact Printers: The three new hand carry printers from Canon will define a new standard for compact photo printing with the launch of the Compact Photo Printer SELPHY ES1, SELPHY CP 720, SELPHY CP730. The Selphy range makes it easier than ever to create photolab quality prints at home.
• EOS 400D : Featuring a 10.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor, new EOS Integrated Cleaning System, larger and brighter 2.5" LCD and 9-point AF. The EOS 400D is the first camera to incorporate the EOS Integrated Cleaning System, a unique technology to remove and repel dust.
• Digital IXUS Range : The three new digital camera models from Canon led by the IXUS 900Ti offers class-leading technology match its exclusive exterior - 10.0 Megapixel resolution, an ultra-compact 3x optical zoom lens and Canon's new DIGIC III image processor with advanced Noise Reduction technology.DIGIC III also drives Face Detection AF/AE , a new Canon technology that automatically detects faces in people shots and optimises focus and exposure accordingly.
The Digital IXUS 850 IS is the 7.1 Megapixel camera which introduces wide-angle zoom capability to the Digital IXUS range for the first time with an optical Image Stabilizer. While it may be the smallest camera in Canon's Digital IXUS range, the Digital IXUS i7 zoom will catch people's attention with the choice of four fashionable new colours. The 7.1 Megapixel camera comes in Sepia, Denim Blue, Steel Grey and Sizzling Pink.
• Four PowerShot A-Series compact cameras with the highest resolution in the range to date - the 10.0 Megapixel PowerShot A640 and 8.0 Megapixel PowerShot A630 along with the Powershot A710IS and Powershot G7. Each camera features a rotating 2.5" vari-angle LCD, 4x optical zoom lens and a vast array of creative shooting modes.
• Video Camcorders : Canon announces the launch of 4 new cameras from the Video range, 3 High Definition (HD) camcorders and 1 DVD camcorder. HV10 being the first consumer CMOS based HD camcorder followed by XHA1 and XHG1 3 CCD high end Pro camcorders. In the DVD range, DC-22 becomes the first Dual layer 2.2 mega pixel DVD camcorder from Canon.
• Six new PIXMA photo all-in-one and five new Pixma Photo single function printers aimed at the home/ small office/home office segment offers full business functionality as well as photo lab quality printing. Key highlights are the introduction of the unique Easy-Scroll Wheel controller, featured on selected high-end models and breaking the stereotype of what a printer's user interface can do.
Fastest ever PIXMAs with photo lab quality, with the MP810 and iP5300 requiring just 21 seconds to produce an outstanding 10x15cm (4"x6") photo. Plus the PIXMA's entry into the growing compact photo printer market with the launch of one high specification PIXMA mini model.
