Commenting on this significant industry recognition, Mr. Hameed Salahuddin said:
'We are delighted to win this award and believe this consolidates our position as the leading mechanical, electrical and plumbing service provider in the region. It is an honour to be recognised by our peers in the industry. Such an award is a testament to our professional expertise and a stepping stone in realising our vision of being the premier name in MEP contracting in the Middle East.'
The M&E division of ETA ASCON offers a wide range of services such as design, supply and installation of air-conditioning, electrical, sanitary, plumbing, fire protection, ELV and BMS systems.
Recent contract wins have demonstrated the company's leading position. In September 2005 it won the $273 million mechanical and electrical package for Burj Dubai in September 2005, in a consortium that also included Voltas Hitachi.
The division has also secured supply contracts for electromechanical works on the Emirates Towers, Deira City Centre, the provision of district cool-systems for Jumeirah Islands, Ibn Batuta Shopping Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai International Airport as well as mechanical works on Gulf Tower, Sofitel Hotel and Four Seasons Resort in Egypt.
M&E leads the way as the first electro-mechanical company in the UAE to have been awarded an ISO 9001-2000 certification by LRQA, the Dubai Quality Appreciation Programme and the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award in Abu Dhabi.
The Construction Week Awards, third year in running, recognises outstanding performance in 13 key areas of the construction industry in the Middle East.
