Sultan bin Tanoun receives officials from Intercontinental Hotels Group

The Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority Sheikh Tahnoun bin Sultan Al Nahyan received at the ADTA premises Richard Hartman - Managing Director, Europe Middle East & Africa - InterContinental Hotels Group, Hartman was accompanied by a number of senior officials from the Group.

The meeting was attended by Abdullah Khalfan Al Rumaithi , ADTA Board Member and Mubarak Hamad Al Muhairi, ADTA Director General.

During the meeting, the two sides conferred on the latest developments in the industry in the region. They further explored the prospects of cooperation between Abu Dhabi and the Intercontinental Group and how such cooperation would impact positively on the tourism boom in Abu Dhabi Emirate.

The Intercon Group officials also briefed Sheikh Sultan on his group's plans to expand globally, particularly to distinctive tourists' destinations such as Abu Dhabi.

As he expressed his happiness to meet Sheikh Sultan, Hartman commended the massive boom in the tourism industry in Abu Dhabi in recent years, adding that the mega tourism projects that are now underway would boost the international standing of Abu Dhabi.

"These projects are vital in view of the fact that Abu Dhabi is rapidly attracting visitors from across the globe. It is also presenting itself as a unique tourist destination", said Hartman.

He also expressed his admiration for the Sadiyaat Island project, saying that it would constitute a qualitative leap for the tourism industry in the emirate. The project would be a tourism landmark in the emirate.
