Unveiled alongside Michael Schumacher's 2006 Ferrari F1 race-car, the Ferrari 1000 was given a champion's launch while attendees were treated to the "Ferrari Experience" as passengers of Ferrari road cars were put through their paces around the Dubai Autodrome race track.

"The Acer Ferrari 1000 is an immediate leader amongst its peers in terms of power and performance and we are confident that the latest in the Acer Ferrari range will be a huge success when we showcase it at GITEX 2006,"

said Graham Braum, Business Development Manager, Mobility and Cameras, Acer Computer Middle East.

The 12.1" screen makes the 1000 series the most compact in the Acer Ferrari range but as one would expect with a Ferrari, its size has in no way impacted on the performance offered.

"The Ferrari notebook range, akin to its Formula 1 namesake, is quickly becoming a driving force that is constantly challenging not just Acer's, but also the industry's perceptions of what is possible for a notebook computer," added Braum.

The inclusion of the InviLink™ Nplify™ technology and an accelerated mobile wireless technology, that supports advanced multiple radios, delivers superior performance and reliable connections while enabling emerging voice, video and data applications, puts the Ferrari 1000 in pole position as the first notebook from Acer to incorporate the latest in wireless innovation.

The Ferrari 1000 streamlined size disguises its internal power as it will also boast SATA drives for high performance - drives that are currently only found on a few larger notebooks.

At 1.6kg and 6-cell battery the Ferrari 1000's compact, light and performance-led features demonstrates its true thorough-bred pedigree, and is set to become an impressive addition to Acer-Ferrari stable.
