Symantec Vision Riyadh 2006 focuses on convergence

The trends towards convergence and the importance of technology as a business decision will be discussed at Symantec's annual technology conference Symantec Vision Riyadh 2006.

Over 300 delegates from Symantec's channel partner organisations, enterprise and SMB clients will gather for the conference to be held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Riyadh on 7th November 2006.

The conference will focus on the theme of 'Infrastructure, Information and Interaction', with a series of interactive sessions covering a range of topics, including data protection and recovery, internet security, cyber-crime, e-Government, email security and availability, information integrity and data management.

Symantec will also unveil its new data back up solution, which enables continuous data protection, beyond Microsoft Windows file servers and workstations to include Microsoft Exchange, eliminating the need for daily Exchange backups and time consuming mailbox backups. Veritas Storage Foundation, which enables organizations to dramatically reduce their storage costs by moving data to less expensive tiers of storage as the business value of the data changes, will also be focused upon.

Ali Jomaa, Country Manager Saudi Arabia, Symantec will open the proceedings with an introductory presentation on the local trends and direction in the security and availability industry at 9:30am. This will be followed by a keynote speech on convergence and its main drivers at 9:40am by Kevin Isaac, Regional Director, Symantec MENA. The presentation will detail the growing need and customer demand for convergence of network management with systems and storage management and describe information security strategies leveraging all three disciplines to effectively maintain the integrity of hardware and software assets.

Vision Riyadh 2006 will also host a representative from one of its Gold Sponsors- David Beck, Storage Sales Manager, Middle East and Africa for Sun Microsystems who will tackle the issues of data management and security.
