1,250 exhibitors from 51 countries to participate at ADIPEC 2006

With 1250 exhibitors from 51 countries, 15 national pavilions, more than 2,000 conference delegates and energy ministers and senior executives from the world's biggest energy companies in attendance, the 12th edition of ADIPEC (Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference) is set to take place, November 5 - 8, 2006 at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition Centre.

The event will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. Over 35,000 visitors are expected to attend Abu Dhabi's showpiece energy event over the four days.

'ADIPEC 2006 has witnessed impressive growth and ranks among the world's biggest and most comprehensive trade shows for the energy sector. The total exhibit area at the event has gone up from 30,000 square metres in 2004 to 35,000 square metres at this ADIPEC. Exhibitor numbers have also increased from 1205 at the last edition to 1250. Over 35,000 visitors and more than 2,000 conference delegates are expected to attend this year,' said Neil Wood, Vice President - Energy, dmg world media, the organisers of ADIPEC.

'In a reflection of the increased international participation, exhibitors from 51 countries are taking part. National pavilions from 15 countries are participating as against 11 pavilions in 2004, including those representing Italy, Canada, the UK, China, India, Spain, Russia, Germany, the US, Turkey, Iran and France. Further, pavilions from Denmark, Netherlands, and Austria are making their debut at this year's show.'

Wood also said that the 2006 edition marks an important milestone in the evolution of ADIPEC as it will be the first time that the event will be organised by dmg world media, the new owner of the show.

'We believe ADIPEC is a truly unique event. It features a mix of participants from across the industry spectrum including national oil companies such as ADNOC, Saudi Aramco, Petroleum Development Oman, Kuwait Petroleum and Qatar Petroleum, global energy giants including ExxonMobil, BP, Shell and Total as well as the world's leading oil and gas services companies such as Baker Hughes, Schlumberger and Halliburton.'

'With its focus on both onshore and offshore, and elements across the entire value chain from downstream to upstream, ADIPEC attracts technology providers, manufacturers, services companies, research institutions and professional societies as participants,' Wood added.

H.E. Ahmed Humaid Al Mazrouie, Managing Director of ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company) said that over the last two decades ADIPEC had emerged as a globally acknowledged platform for decision makers and professionals from the oil and gas industry. Congratulating dmg world media, the organisers of this ADIPEC, he expressed the hope that ADIPEC 2006 would break all manner of show records and emerge as an extremely successful show.

In parallel with the exhibition, ADIPEC 2006 will also have a conference track with the theme 'Meeting the increasing global demand through innovation'. The conference will feature H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Hamed Al Rumhy, the Omani Minister of Oil & Gas, David Lesar, President & CEO - Halliburton, Malcolm Brinded, Executive Director, Exploration and Production - Shell and Tony Hayward, Chief Executive, Exploration and Production - BP, among several high-profile participants from some of the world's leading oil and gas companies including Weatherford, Kuwait Oil Company, Total and ExxonMobil.

H.E. Ali Al Jarwan, the ADIPEC Conference Chairman said that with the participation of industry leaders from national and international oil companies, the ADIPEC 2006 conference would play a role in pointing the way to how the industry will evolve over the next few years.

'More than 170 expert speakers will be featured at the four-day event. Besides the two executive plenary sessions, there will be eight expert panel sessions, 18 technical presentation sessions and four poster sessions. The focus will be on environmental issues, geo-science integration, the oil and gas development cycle and technological advancements in the industry,' he added.
