This is the first time that a youth TV channel is conducting a region-wide VJ Hunt. The eight-episode reality show will reveal the battle between the 12 short-listed contenders selected from thousands who auditioned for the show.

The episodes will feature events, contests and the everyday tribulations of the young aspiring VJs, putting them in situations that best resemble the lives and careers of today's best VJs.

Elias Mouawad, Director Special Projects of Real Media-Zee Network said, "Not only is this the biggest VJ Hunt in the region; it will also be the first reality show of its kind. From makeovers to desert safaris and concerts we will give audiences the inside scoop on the making of great VJs. The hunt has just begun."

Zee Arabiya, along with associate sponsors Samsung, Viva and New Wave also aim to use the VJ Hunt to raise awareness about the entertainment industry in the Middle East and want the final winners of the contest to be the next big youth icons of the region. The two winners will also go on to win a lucrative contract with Zee Arabiya to work on some of their prime properties.
