His Excellency Qhadi saeed Al Murosheed, Director General, Department of Health and Medical Services announced in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Gerard Vincent, President of International Hospital Federation, said at the launching.
IMD-IHF Dubai 2007 shall be held under the auspices of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and Industry, President of the Department of Health and Medical Services. IMD-IHF Dubai 2007 is organized by the Department of Health and Medical Services, the International Hospital Federation, CHARITE Berlin, INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions Organisation Est. and Health Management.
H.E. expressed his appreciation to the excellent relationship with the International Hospital Federation that goes back to several years where DOHMS and IHF worked closely on several projects related to organizing conferences, scientific clinical meetings, education and training to the medical and health care professionals, in addition to medical, administrative and organizational consultation services. DOHMS and IHF have been working together on organizing IMD for the past six years.
H.E. mentioned that the IMD-IHF Dubai 2007 in its six edition shall comprise of three events and they are the International Critical Care Conference & Exhibition - ICCC Dubai 2007 that is held in conjunction with the 2nd International Pan Arab Critical Care Medicine Congress, the second event is the International Emergency & Catastrophe Management Conference & Exhibition - IECM Dubai 2007 and third is the Dubai International Hospital Management Conference & Exhibition - Dubai Hospi-Manage and the Dubai International Hospital Architectural Design & Biomedical Conference & Exhibition - Dubai Hospi-Design. These conferences are hosting more than 100 international speakers; they will be discussing the latest trends in Critical Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Management, Hospital Architectural Design and Biomedical Engineering.
H.E. confirmed that all these conferences have been recognized and accredited by several international societies in addition to IHF. He added that DOHMS continuously support its clinical faculty and medical staff in order to enhance the quality of services rendered by DOHMS, mainly through an extensive Continuous Medical Education Program. Furthermore, DOHMS has a leading role in hosting and organizing several international medical conferences in Dubai that contributed to enhancing the quality of medical services in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Gulf Countries and other Arab Countries.
H.E. Mr. Gerard Vincent, President of the International Hospital Federation expressed the commitment of the federation in supporting the International Medical Care & Diagnostic Conference & Exhibition. He stressed on the positive relationship between DOHMS and IHF. He emphasized on the role of Prof. Per Gunnar Svensson, Director General of the International Hospital Federation, Chairman of the Scientific Committee for Dubai International Hospital Management Conference & Exhibition - Dubai Hospi-Manage and the Dubai International Hospital Architectural Design & Biomedical Conference & Exhibition - Dubai Hospi-Design. He also praised the exceptional relationship between the International Hospital Federation and INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions Organisation Est. and Health Management, Members of INDEX Holding during the past years. Moreover, His Excellency mentioned that there shall be a pre-conference course during IMD-IHF Dubai 2007, the International Patient Satisfaction Index - IPSI course that uses international measurement tools to measure patient satisfaction during their visit to the hospitals. He mentioned that this important course is designed specifically to Hospital Directors, Hospital Administrators, Medical Directors, Nursing Directors and other hospital decision makers. This course shall be held for the first time in the Gulf Countries, Arab World, Middle East and North Africa; this comes after the great success of the course in Europe. Measuring Patient Satisfaction is becoming a very important quality standard for any hospital aiming at obtaining recognition or accreditation from an international professional health authority
Dr. Hussein Al Rahma, Director of Intensive Care Unit at Dubai Hospital, Chairman of the International Critical Care Conference & Exhibition - ICCC Dubai 2007 that is held in conjunction with the 2nd International Pan Arab Critical Care Medicine Congress mentioned that Dubai shall be hosting the conference for the first time. He mentioned that the scientific committee was able to obtain the recognition of several international critical care societies and they are the Society of Critical Care Medicine, USA, International Pan-Arab Critical Care Medicine Society, Dutch Critical Care Medicine Society, Argentinean Critical Care Medicine Society, World Federation of Societies of Intensive and Critical Care Medicine, World Society of Abdominal Compartment Syndrome, European Society of Intensive Care Medicine and Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine. ICCC - Dubai 2007 has attracted 60 specialized clinician in critical care medicine from more than 30 countries, they shall be sharing their latest researches and information on Sepsis, Infection in ICU, Shock, Nutritional Support in ICU, Renal Failure & Replacement, Respiratory Failure and Ventilation, Critical Care Medicine, Neuro-Trauma Critical Care, current Advances in Cardiology in the ICU-Cardiogenic Shock and Role of Clinical Pharmacist in Critical Care. Dr. Hussein mentioned that there shall be four pre-conference courses; two of them are organized with the Society of Critical Care Medicine, USA and they are the Basic Assessment and Support in Intensive Care Course and Fundamentals of Disaster Management, FDM; in addition to a course in Improving Communication Skills and Transport of Critically Ill Patient.
Dr. Moein Fekri, Director of Accident and Emergency Trauma Center at Rashid Hospital, Chairman of the International Emergency & Catastrophe Management Conference & Exhibition - IECM Dubai 2007 mentioned that the conference shall tackle eight major topics namely Emergency Preparedness, Emergency Medical Services, Trauma, Surgical, Airway/Critical Care, Cardiology, Medical and Other Emergency cases. The conference was able to attract 20 international clinician specialized in Emergency Medicine from 15 countries.
Engineer Saeed Al Shamsi, Director of Engineering Department in the Department of Health and Medical Services, Chairman of the Dubai International Hospital Management Conference & Exhibition - Dubai Hospi-Manage and the Dubai International Hospital Architectural Design & Biomedical Conference & Exhibition - Dubai Hospi-Design mentioned that the Scientific Committee was able to attract more than 20 international speakers specialized in Hospital Management, Hospital Design, Hospital Construction and Hospital Project Management. The conference shall tackle the following subjects: Improving Hospital Architectural/Design. Our Hospital Using the State of the Art Available Technology; Preparing and Training of Biomedical and Facilities Management Engineers to run Health Care Services to the most Economical Solutions ensuring Patient Safety; Adopting E-Health Technology in Health Care Facilities; Privatization of the Public Health Care Sector and Best Practices in Managing and Processing Outsourcing Opportunities in the Health Care Environment.
Mr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, President of INDEX Holding mentioned that the International Medical Care & Diagnostic Conference & Exhibition IMD-IHF Dubai 2007 next year shall be the biggest event compared to the previous years. He mentioned that the conference shall be supported by an international exhibition specialized in Critical Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Management, Hospital Design, Biomedical Engineering and Facility Management. The exhibition is expected to attract more than 150 specialized exhibitors. Mr. Al Madani registered his personal appreciation and the appreciation of INDEX Holding to H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and Industry, President of the Department of Health and Medical Services for patronizing the conference and for H.E. Qhadi saeed Al Murosheed, Director General, Department of Health and Medical Services for hosting this Press Conference and to H.E. Mr. Gerard Vincent, President of International Hospital Federation for his presence during the Press Conference and for IHF for their continuous support to IMD-IHF Dubai.
Finally, H.E. Qhadi saeed Al Murosheed and Mr. Abdul Salam Al Madani mentioned that the Department of Health and Medical Services, INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions Organisation Est. and Health Management are aiming to host the International Hospital Federation International Congress in the year 2009. Dubai is competing with other three countries bidding to host the event. They mentioned that the visit of IHF delegation chaired by H.E. Mr. Gerard Vincent, President of International Hospital Federation was based on an invitation by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions Organisation Est. and Health Management Members of INDEX Holding to give the delegation the chance to assess Dubai's capabilities to host such a Congress that is expected to attract more than 10,000 participants from different branches in the health care sector. The International Hospital Federation shall announce the selected hosting country on January 2007.
