Five designers will arrive in Dubai to meet with buyers and will showcase their Spring/Summer collections at AusStyle, an exciting and glamorous event on 5 December. A number of local and international companies are supporting the event including MasterCard, Lexus, octOpus brand and communications consultancy, Royal Brunei Airlines, ModelCo, LÓreal, Aldo and Quintessentially.

AusStyle will boast a range of clothes and accessories from five designers that have been acknowledged for their excellence in design both domestically in Australia and globally, including London and New York.

Camilla Franks will be showcasing her new collection, which boasts a beautiful range of kaftans, worn by many top celebrities around the world. Sisters Marie and Beba Hatzis, of popular fashion label Hussy, will also be exhibiting their new collection. Marie started designing Hussy at the age of 21 and it has now grown internationally, with Hussy jewellery, shoes and bags now as wanted as the clothing line!

Other designers attending AusStyle include Melbourne designer Yeojin Bae, whose first collection of meticulously detailed party frocks in flowery colours and nostalgic patterns is racked at Barneys in New York and Selfridge's in London. Jacqui Alexander has already attracted much attention from European buyers with her stunning collection. Jacqui combines stylish classics with innovative new pieces.

Spencer & Rutherford has grown from a unique boutique business into a design house of global stature, with some of the world's most revered stores clamouring to stock the quirky, romantic bags. From the cafe cultured streets of Australia's fashion capital, to the über chic metropolis of New York, Spencer & Rutherford bags are seen in US blockbuster movies and owned by celebrities such as Cate Blanchet and Julianne Moore.

Peter Linford, Consul General & Senior Trade Commissioner, said

'This is the first time that the Australian Trade Commission has brought Australian designers to Dubai but we hope that AusStyle will become a yearly event that showcases the vast talent that exists in the fashion industry in Australia.'

'Dubai is fast becoming a fashion city that is compared to London, New York and Milan and we are positive that Australian designers have a large contribution to make to the local fashion industry,' he added.

AusStyle commences on 5 December with a fashion show and evening reception and is an invitation only event.
