Launched in cooperation with Emirates Motor Sports Federation (EMSF) and Dubai Police, the contest will take place from 5th until 10th of November 2006. The winner would receive a cash prize and one Jabra BT135 Bluetooth headset.

A sponsored car will be patrolling around Dubai along with judges, one police officer, and one radio 2 FM presenter. Criteria for winning would be based on the consistent use of indicators, wearing seatbelts, maintaining road discipline and observing traffic rules.

Bluetooth headsets allow drivers to speak on their phones hands free whilst keeping their hands on the wheel. Ahmed Elkalliny, Regional Manager from Jabra says 'Road safety is a major issue in Dubai, we actively support Dubai Police and EMSF in this campaign as it is essential to increase road safety awareness and educate drivers to follow traffic rules''. The sponsored car will patrol twice a day during peak traffic hours to identify safe drivers and will award them on the spot with a cash prize and a Jabra Bluetooth headset. The radio presenter will congratulate the winner on air and up to 12 drivers will be chosen daily.

Jabra products ensure that drivers abide by the law. A diverse range of Bluetooth headsets like the Jabra JX10, Jabra BT160, Jabra BT135 enable drivers to choose one that best suits their design preference and budget. The headsets have a voice-activation feature, which makes it more convenient for drivers to make and answer calls without having to take their hands off the steering wheel.

The Caltex Roadstar Competition's first round of the road safety campaign was first held in March 2006. The competition was warmly received by the public, encouraging and motivating drivers to follow traffic rules.
