MedNet International's IT Director visits UAE

Gerry Raftopoulos, IT Director at MedNet International (MNI), Greece was in Dubai recently to appraise the efficiency of the IT systems employed at MedNet UAE. He also discussed future plans for utilising IT to improve the delivery and management of health care services.

MedNet UAE currently employs advanced IT systems for efficient functioning which in turn helps the organisation provide quality service to its clients at a lower cost. MedNet UAE's IT requirements are met by MNI. MedNet UAE has an online presence through its website www.mednet-uae.com currently under Phase II development. This includes an extranet for partners.

The service spectrum of MedNet UAE, located in Dubai Internet City, includes medical insurance for individuals & corporates through 1st class insurance companies, third party management and handling of medical employee benefits, arrangement and facilitation of specialized medical treatment overseas and a range of consulting services including risk management, strategy development, business process optimization and TPA/MSO procedures.

MedNet International (MNI) specialises in health management services and was set up in 1990. Realising the importance of Information Technology in the delivery and management of healthcare services, MNI established a separate IT division in Athens, Greece in 1995. Through this dedicated division, MNI supports local MedNet operations worldwide by providing IT services and solutions best suited to their needs.

Currently, MNI's IT division supports 8 MedNet operations and has a well-knit team of 22 IT professionals. The team's primary task is to develop information systems that help local operations manage the business. MNI also develops business intelligence solutions that use analytical tools. These provide information to business managers that help them make informed decisions.

MNI has over 10 years experience in the Health Insurance management business.
