Saeed Mohammed Al Nabouda, DSF CEO, headed the meeting attended by Ibrahim Saleh, DSF COO, Yousuf Mubarak, DSF Events, Operations and Services Director along with heads of the various Government department committees.
While presiding over the meeting, Saeed Al Nabouda, welcomed the committee members and thanked them for making the DSF and ultimately Dubai as the most sought-after family destination for visitors from around the world. During a presentation, the DSF CEO apprised the gathering about the success of the DSF's promotional campaign held in Germany, Russia, the GCC countries, the Sub-continent and the World Travel Market (WTM) held in London from November 6 to 9.
On this occasion Al Nabouda also highlighted the general duties of the Organising Committee falling under the Superior Committee supervising the activities of the Global Village, Heritage Village, shopping malls, public parks etc and the creation of sub committees for health, safety and security, logistics and arts, city decoration, reception and hospitality, parks and gardens, registration and social committees also including departments like the Dubai Education Zone, Dubai Cultural Council, Watani Programme, Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, whose committees will be responsible for their own areas of operations.
Appreciating the efforts of the Organising Committee members, the DSF CEO said, 'It is through the focused efforts of the various Government Departments that DSF has grown to be an icon of shopping and family fun today. So, once again it's time to look ahead and move on and to give the world yet another episode of a memorable shopping festival.'
The combined edition of DSF 2006-2007 will run from December 20, 2006 to February 2, 2007. The 45 days of family fun, entertainment and shopping frenzy will offer retrospective glimpses of the 10 previous editions combining the best of the best and promises to be even bigger and better.
Government departments brace up for DSF
With only 42 days left and the excitement building up for the special combined 11th and 12th edition of DSF 2006-2007 running from December 20 to February 2 2007, the DSF Organising Committee members convened their regular meeting to discuss their action plan for the 45 day event dubbed as the 'World of Festivals' in Dubai Festival City.
