Dubai Ski Club has more than 1000 members, and is focused primarily on organising activities where skiing enthusiasts can improve their slope skills while having fun. It is the first time that the organisation is staging a 'World Cup' competition. The World Cup is also a great way to integrate the different countries as the teams and guests will all meet later in the evening.
Michael Henssler, General Manager, Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, welcomed the launch of the first skiing championship in the UAE and said,
'Kudos to the Dubai Ski Club for organising a skiing competition in the UAE for the very first time. There is a growing community of skiing enthusiasts here, as well as an increasing number of inbound tourists who want to try the excellent facilities and services offered by our resort.'
Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates has hosted a number of skiing celebrities, including Olympic snowboarding gold medallist Tanja Frieden, who have stayed at the luxury ski resort. 'As the premiere ski resort in the region, we are delighted to be the leading choice of world-class skiing celebrities, as well as being staunch supporters of local skiing activities that cater to local and regional skiing enthusiasts,' added Henssler.
Henssler also revealed that that the hotel is hosting the medal ceremonies and a post-race party, where all championship participants can unwind and socialise.
