Throughout the week, Jebel Ali Hospital specialists will speak on various health issues, including paediatrics, gynaecology, plastic surgery, dentistry, Ear, Nose and throat (ENT), orthopaedics, acupuncture and physiotherapy.
Advet Bhambani, CEO at Jebel Ali Hospital, said:
'People often take it for granted that they are healthy. Anyone is susceptible to an illness but your health can worsen if symptoms are not detected at an early stage. The objective behind the free medical checks is to educate people through friendly, informative sessions and offer useful facts on risks, symptoms and prevention.'
Commenting on its participation at the event, Colin Fenton, Mall Manager at Ibn Battuta Mall, said: 'We are glad that Jebel Ali Hospital has come forward to organise such a significant effort for the community and we are proud to be a part of this activity.'
Dr. Prem Jagyasi, Director, Business and Marketing, Jebel Ali Hospital, said: 'The 'Family Health Week', will host a range of activities for families and children to gain knowledge through a lively and interactive medium. Sometimes, children fear the hospital environment and this is a good opportunity to reassure them about doctors and healthcare by showing that staying well is also fun.'
In addition, educational material on various topics such as ENT, dental hygiene, blood pressure, diabetes, baby care, home safety tips, and nutritional tips will be handed out to all visitors at the mall. The timings for the 'Family Health Week' activities are from 10 am to 10 pm.
Key supporters of the event are Abbott, EGO, Global Pharma, J&J Blood Test and Oral B who will supply free gifts, medical, dental and nutritional products to all visitors at the kiosk.
