Ghana Minister visits EIDA, praises population and ID card project

Ghana's Minister of Trade and Economy Alan Kyerematen yesterday visited the Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) and met with EIDA officials who briefed him about the Population Register and ID Card (PRIDC) project.

The project is considered one of the most advanced identity programs in the Middle East as it effectively uses state-of-the-art information technology.

The Ghana minister is in the UAE as head of a delegation visiting the country to promote bilateral relations between the two countries. The delegation was received by EIDA's Assistant General Manager of Central Operations Ali Khouri and Marketing and Population Services Manager Mohammed Hadef Al-Shamsi.

Kyerematen praised the PRIDC project and said it will reinforce the UAE's position as a technologically advanced nation. "Any reliable planning should be based on a secure database such as the one that is being currently built by EIDA," he said.
