Conmex, which is a four-day event , will showcase construction plant and machinery, concrete plant and machinery, tower cranes, mobile cranes, lifting and conveying equipment, construction equipment, commercial vehicles, tools and special systems, formwork and scaffolding, construction site facilities, spare parts and accessories, communication and navigation equipment, and safety equipment.

'Conmex will feature a total display area of 16,000 square metres,' said Mr. Saif Al Midfa, Director General, Expo Centre Sharjah.

'It is for the first time in the region that such a large area is being solely dedicated for the display of construction machinery, equipment, and vehicles, at one venue. Conmex will be the region's first trade event for construction machinery and equipment that will have an indoor as well as an outdoor exhibition area,'

he added.

The indoor and the outdoor exhibition area of Conmex will measure 8,000 square metres each. Whereas the outdoor display area will be utilized to showcase tower cranes, concrete batching plants, concrete mixers, crushers, fork lifts & earthmovers, the exhibition halls indoor will exhibit light and medium range machinery, equipment, attachments, tools, accessories, tyres, lubrication services and vehicles.

The rise in construction activities in the Middle East has resulted in a huge consequent demand for related machinery, equipment, and vehicles. The enormity of the demand can be gauged from the fact that in Dubai alone over 30,000 tower cranes are in operation. As per statistics available, there are 125,000 tower cranes operating worldwide.

The debut edition of Conmex will host 250 brands and companies from 21 countries. Given the unique and exclusive exhibit profile, it is expected that key personnel and decision makers from the construction industry, construction & contracting companies, civil engineering firms, developers, ready-mix and concrete suppliers, building material suppliers traders, distributors, stockists of construction machinery and equipment, service providers including transport companies, consultants, renting and leasing agencies, and Public administration and building authorities from across the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region will visit the event in large numbers.

A major highlight of the Conmex exhibition will be the live demonstrations that will be conducted on site. The demonstrations will focus on the various functions and utilities of the machinery and vehicles on display. Product launches by some of the world's leading names will also be of significant interest to the visitors.

Conmex is being organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
