Qatar Airways increases frequencies to 12 of its destinations

To meet the rush of passengers this summer, Qatar Airways has increased the frequency of its flights to 12 of its top destinations.

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer, Akbar Al Baker said: "The recent addition of two state of the art Airbus A330-200 aircraft has helped us to increase the frequencies as well as to begin operations to new destinations."

With the raising of the frequencies, Qatar Airways now operates 11 flights a week to London's Heathrow Airport from the earlier nine. To cater to the growing number of European tourists visiting the Maldives, the airline has raised the number of flights to Male to 7 from 3. Flights to the Middle East and Arab country destinations have also been increased. Qatar Airways now operates seven flights a week to Saudi Arabia with the raising of the Jeddah frequency to 5 from the earlier 3. The other Saudi destination is Riyadh to which the airline flies twice a week.

The other destinations to which the frequencies have been raised are (earlier frequency in brackets) Amman 6 (5), Damascus 4 (3), Khartoum 4 (2), Bangkok 7 (2), Manila 5 (2), Kuala Lumpur 6 (3), two of which are via Bangkok, Kathmandu 11 (7), Karachi 7 (5), Jakarta 4 (3).

Qatar Airways will add two more destinations to its network on October 28th with the launching of services to Sharjah and Hyderabad (India). The airline, Qatar's national carrier, has recently launched services to Frankfurt (4 flights a week), Casablanca (3 flights), Milan (4 flights) and Sanaa (3 flights).

Qatar Airways, one of the fastest growing airlines in the world has the distinction of operating an all-Airbus fleet. Currently the airline has a fleet of 17 aircraft including 7 Airbus A 300-600 R, 7 Airbus A 320,2 Airbus A 330-200 and one Airbus Corporate jetliner ACJ 319.

Qatar Airways has been successfully operating its subsidiaries - Qatar Aviation Services, Qatar Duty Free, Qatar Airways Holidays, Qatar Distribution Company and the fledgling Qatar Air Catering Company.
