ATV holds International Humanitarian Law and Media Workshop, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross

In cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross, ATV - Jordan's first independent, privately-owned terrestrial and satellite television station - organized a two-day workshop for its journalists.

The workshop, held on November 5th and 6th at ATV's premises, focused on international humanitarian law and its relation to the media, it also focused on issues related to its implementation applications in the media field.

The workshop aimed at introducing international humanitarian law to the journalists, particularly in terms of its professional applications. In addition, the workshop raised the subject of international humanitarian law for public debate to enhance its application and connection with the media. It shed light on mutual points of interests and provided journalists and correspondents with techniques that will enable them to better document their reports, direct them to legal references and accurately cover conflicts.

Lecturers in the workshop included Osama Damj, the regional delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross at the Armed Forces, Dr. Amer Al-Zmali, regional consultant for Islamic World Affairs, Rabab Al-Rifai, Media Manager at the International Committee of the Red Cross office in Jordan, and Nada Domani, representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

ATV's mission is to entertain, inform, and contribute to the development of a professional press culture in Jordan.
