Kamal Naamani appointed General Manager, The Fairmont Dubai

Naamani, who has been hotel manager at Fairmont's flagship international property since its pre-opening in 2001, brings over 25 years of hospitality experience to this position, and more than ten years of management experience with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.

A graduate of the Resort and Restaurant Management Program at Ryerson University, Toronto, Naamani joined Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, The Fairmont Banff Springs in 1993. Prior to this Naamani held senior management positions at both the Edmonton Convention Centre and Hilton International. In 1997, Naamani joined The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Canada and in 2000, Naamani was appointed as Hotel Manager, The Fairmont Southampton, Bermuda.

Naamani will report to John Williams, executive vice president of Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EAME). Fairmont projects in the EAME region include the re-branding of four Kenyan hotels (late-2007); the opening of Fairmont Cairo, Nile City (late 2007); and the development of several properties, including Fairmont Palm Island and Fairmont Palm Residences on The Palm, Jumeriah, (2008); a resort on the crescent of The Palm (late 2009); Fairmont Abu Dhabi Resort & Villas within the new Marina City Development (late 2008); and Fairmont Zimbali, in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (2009).
