Saudi Aramco's long-range plan is to focus on and capture the emerging markets in South East Asia, through a combination of the strategic location of the Kuala Lumpur office in the region and Saudi Arabia's strong commercial, cultural and religious ties with Malaysia.
"Saudi Aramco has strong ties with some Malaysian manufacturers and service providers, and we are eager to enhance and expand on these relationships,"
said Abdulaziz F. Al-Khayyal, Saudi Aramco Sr. Vice President of Refining, Marketing and International.
"This new office in Kuala Lumpur, in the heart of this nation's petroleum industry, will allow us to better coordinate future business opportunities here."
The main function of the AOC office in Kuala Lumpur, which operates under AOC's direct supervision, is to identify and assess manufacturer capability and performance, focusing on material supply services and inspection, against Saudi Aramco's critical commodities.
The AOC office is optimally located at the global energy landmark of Petronas Twin Towers, in the heartland of Kuala Lumpur's city center and commercial hub. Most international energy companies are located in or near to the towers, which is close to the cities diplomatic area.
