The Forbes Arabia research team started with 80 Arab brands from various industries; brands that must have been created and owned by an Arab company. With the help of an exclusive online survey of 1,200 consumers in Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, the Palestinian Territories, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen by U.K. market research firm YouGov, were able to gauge which brands were most admired and trusted by consumers.
The research was based on the following main criteria; Knowledge of the brand, relevance of the brand to the consumer, trust worthiness as well as brand recommendation.
Melody was rated the number 1 brand in Egypt and the number 33 brand in the whole Arab world; not only because of its performance; but also because of its future growth prospects, as well as quality, innovation and market knowledge. Melody is in the process of putting a monetary value on it's brand and adding it to it's Balance Sheet.
