DMC & iMPZ generate investor interest at UAE Asia Investment Forum

The event provided an effective platform for joint ventures and business collaboration between the UAE and Singaporean companies across diverse industry clusters.

Top level delegation from Dubai Media City lead by Mohamed Al Mulla, Director of Dubai Media City and Hamad Huraiz, Executive Director of the International Media Production Zone addressed the Singaporean business community at the forum and held a series of discussions with potential investors.

Some of the companies that DMC met with included Media Raintree Pictures - a pioneering film production company, and the International Federation of Multimedia Association that aims to promote exchange of technology, expertise, knowledge and experience between multimedia associations and organizations between different countries.

The delegation also held a meeting with the Singapore Media Development Authority (MDA) to explore and facilitate international collaboration on the development of media clusters. Exchange of database for media related activities was also discussed during this meeting.

In his presentation on DMC offerings, Al Mulla said: "Dubai's move towards transparency, efficiency and openness has dynamically fuelled the economy, and created new opportunities for investors. The free zone policy that Dubai aggressively pursues has added to the economy's drive towards globalization.

The delegation from International Media Production Zone held joint meetings with the Institute of South East Asia Studies, Print Association of Singapore and Singapore Publication Association.

Highlighting the objectives and value proposition of iMPZ, Hamad Huraiz, Executive Director of International Media Production Zone, said: "The International Media Production Zone seeks to create a unique cluster environment for media production companies from across the industry value chain worldwide to interact and collaborate effectively.

"The forum allowed us to address a high potential market. The interest from the Asia Pacific 3P industry - printing, publishing and packaging - has exceeded our expectations."

The UAE Asia Investment Forum created a number of important business leads that will be explored over the coming months by DMC and iMPZ.
