Price hikes in Qatar

Consumers in Qatar are urging local authorities to stop medium sized and small supermarkets from hiking the price of goods according to The Peninsula, citing an Arabic daily. Shoppers claim that supermarkets in residential areas are charging between 10-15% more than larger hypermarkets for the same goods. Increased operating costs, including inflated rents, have been blamed for the price hikes.
