The AED185,000 donation will be used by the Red Crescent Society to repair vital infrastructure, including water pumps and generators to ensure hospitals can maintain their operations and communities can continue recovering.
Commenting on the donation, Dow Regional President for India, the Middle East and Africa (IMEA), Earl Shipp said; "Our commitment to supporting the communities where we are present is deeply embedded in Dow's corporate culture. The Red Crescent Society is a very active organisation and provides assistance to those in need, regardless of nationality, religious belief or political persuasion."
For over three decades, The Dow Chemical Company has pursued a strategy of steady growth in the Middle East. Since opening its first commercial office in Cairo in the early 1970s it has established a solid presence in the region and currently has manufacturing plants or state-of-the-art petrochemical joint ventures in Kuwait, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt.
