The stand will include demonstrations of a major set of enhancements to Tejari's trading platform and the benefits this brings to the marketplace's buyers and suppliers. Tejari's GITEX presence will also focus on some of the new markets and services that Tejari has launched over the past year, to reach into new vertical sectors, new communities and new markets in the Middle East and beyond.
"Over the past year, Tejari has expanded its services and put in place many new initiatives that will help to shape the unfolding future of eCommerce in the region. In addition to expanding our operations into Pakistan, we have launched a number of new projects that increase the scope of our business and leverage on the experience we have gained in the past six years of operations,"
said Omar Hijazi, CEO of Tejari.
"We are now ideally positioned to build on our success as a horizontal online marketplace to develop online hubs for specific sectors, to give communities the means to harness e-business, and to extend Tejari's reach to a worldwide audience," he added.
Tejari currently operates in eight countries (UAE, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Iraq, Lebanon, KSA, and Pakistan) and provides a comprehensive trading platform to more than 70,000 member companies, with a total trading volume of more than $3 billion. In addition to this, Tejari is also building a global brand to position itself as the gateway to online trade with the Middle East, and is developing solutions to meet the needs of specific vertical industries or business communities.
In the past year, Tejari has launched customized online portals for various communities including mylinkDubai.com for the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED). Tejari is also developing a portal wih Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA) and is leading a project to create a trade network for more than 100 cities worldwide through the Glocal eCities initiative.
In the second half of this year, Tejari has been represented at major technology and media events in China, Monaco, Turkey and the US.
At GITEX this year, Tejari will also conduct live demonstrations of its new business-to-business networking service for professionals, where business visitors will have an opportunity to register themselves on the network and to win a prize. In addition, Tejari will host representatives from its regional offices, to strengthen ties in the regional business community.
"GITEX is an ideal venue for us to meet our customers and partners from across the region, and to demonstrate the power of ecommerce to potential Tejari customers. Many of the new services that we have launched, from the features on our marketplace, to entire portals, were developed through consultation with our customers and partners, and the customer is always central to what we do," said Hijazi.
Tejari are exhibiting on the Dubai World Stand, Sheikh Rashid Hall.
