The announcement was made during a press conference that was held at the QRCE offices in the university. Basel Kilany, Manager of the Technology Commercialization Program, attended the meeting and spoke about its main objectives, he said "the importance of this conference comes from our innovators' excessive need for knowledge and scientific expertise, especially when it comes to intellectual property laws (IP laws), which are the base of the success of their future business projects, both nationally and internationally."

"This conference highlights the beneficial scientific methods of protecting the intellectual properties of Jordanian creative inventors. It is also meant to guide inventors on how to easily value their IP knowledge, and to address the IP component when writing a winning business plan." Kilany added.

This conference will provide networking opportunities for inventors, researchers, and technical know-how resources, with their counterparts, Arab and foreign, so that mutual and prosperous relationships take place in the field of technology commercialization.

This conference is one of the important scientific forums in Jordan and the region, since QRCE intends to attract the most possible number of local and international researchers, intellectuals, and experts to participate in this event. It also encourages the private sector's companies and institutions in the technological field to present their services and capabilities in the conference, as to get the inventors to use their distinguished innovations successfully.

The major components of the conference will be discussed by means of interactive presentations, case studies, and panels. The conference will also highlight the importance of enriching the academics knowledge of IP, so as they could financially benefit from it.

The first conference of Technology Commercialization was held in Amman in 2005. The concept of the conference came out from QRCE's Technology Commercialization Program, and it was launched as a joint initiative between QRCE, PSUT, the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) and the Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST) and its partners in the local market.
