VAT study to go ahead

The UAE will conduct a study on behalf of the GCC to examine the political and economic effects of a value added tax, according to the Ministry of Finance and Industry. A preliminary study by Dubai Customs and the IMF concluded that introduction of VAT is inevitable if GCC states are to keep up current levels of economic welfare.
