When the project is completed, three areas of 162 square meters each will have Wi-Fi connectivity using multiple Professional Access Points (USR5453) in clusters interconnected by optical fiber backbone. USRobotics won this important deal through its partner InterNetwork Technology, who was awarded the contract by Bechtel.
"We are glad to have this opportunity to work in the oil and gas industry as it helps us demonstrate our versatility and also highlights the superiority of our connectivity solutions," said Sumit Kumar, Regional Manager, Middle East and North Africa, USRobotics. "For people working in the onshore field at Asab, Wi-Fi connectivity with the USRobotics products will ensure data transmissions throughout the facilities are secure, reliable, and fast."
"We are currently in the process of mobilisation of products to be implemented at Gasco, and we expect the scope of this project to extend beyond the initial implementation and serve several hundred executives in the months ahead,"
he added.
The USRobotics Professional Access Point delivers a powerful array of features designed to provide flexible, managed 802.11g/802.11b connectivity for small/medium businesses. The management interface allows users to manage an entire cluster of access points (APs), via its integrated SNMP support. The easy-to-manage solution also offers excellent compatibility, superior flexibility, and powerful security.
