Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, President of Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, The Dubai International Minors Conferences was inaugurated at the Emirates Towers Hotel by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance and Industry.
Speaking at the opening, Eng. Abdul Rahman Al Shared, General Secretary of Awqaf & Minors Affairs Foundation said that the foundation provides Minors with the best expertise, guidance, and social practices and added, "the foundation aims at establishing itself as a pioneer in the field of organizing, managing and investing the money of the Awqaf and Minors in Dubai. This was accomplished by cooperating with various concerned governmental and public sectors and benefiting from their varied experiences in this field, making it another corner stone in the vast economic development witnessed currently Dubai" and he explained that the conference will discuss the features of the Minors in the Arab and Islamic Society, the Minors' legal status, the social guiding dimensions for rehabilitation of Minors, in addition to other vital topics through theoretical and workshop sessions.
Ms. Bahiya Al Hariri, Member at the Lebanese Parliament, Head of the Education Committee at the Parliament and President of Hariri Foundation for Orphans' Care was the Guest of Honor of the conference and that she enriched the attendees with valuable information on Minors affairs based on her experience in the field through the Hariri Foundation. .
Ahmed Seif Al Khuroosi representing the Minors in the conference addressed a welcome speech hoping that the conference would come up with vital solutions for the challenges facing the Minors and develops plans for care, rehabilitation and empowering Minors that ensures sound financial investments in order to preserve the future of the Minors.
After the inaugural ceremony, the scientific sessions commenced and Dr. Aiada Bin Ayoub Al Kobisy, Professor of Interpretation and Sciences of the Koran at the Faculty of Shari'a and Islamic Studies in Sharjah University lectured about the Minors from a Qu'ranic Perspective and Dr. Omar Abdul Kafy Shehata, Head of Qu'ran Studies Centre at the Dubai International Holy Qu'ran Award Institution lectured about the Orphan in the Sunna of the Prophet. Dr. Abdul Haque Humeish from Sharjah University lectured about the Sharia'a objectives in investing Minors' Monies, followed by Dr. Salama Mohammad Al Hurfy Al Balawi, Professor in the History Department at Sharjah University who conferred on "Spotlights on caring for Minors and Islamic Civilization Caring for Foundling as a Model".
Moreover, further subjects shall be discussed through the prominent scholars, lecturers who represent the Gulf and Arab Countries ant he Islamic World during 15th and 16th of November of this month in Rashidiya Ballroom at Bustan Rotana Hotel in Dubai.
