Gargash Enterprises leads International Automobile Show in Sharjah

Gargash Enterprises has orchestrated the largest display area to showcase a wide range of top models, including the all new Mercedes-Benz CL, GL and the powerful AMG range, amongst others. The "Sharjah Motor Show" will take place from 14-18 November 2006 and will be inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.

Gargash Enterprises has secured an exhibition space spanning a total area of over 3000 square metres indoors and outdoors, and amongst the cars on display in Hall 1 will be the CL, rarely seen in public since its launch in September 2006. The second highlight of the show there will be a full size SUV, the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. A parade of "Exotic Cars" will be in Zone 5, including the SL55 AMG and a S500 Limousine "Fab Design". Zone 4 will accommodate the Silver Star Rental Fleet, the commercial vehicle rental operation of Gargash Enterprises, and a selection of Approved Used Cars. Finally, the remarkable Mercedes-Benz 4x4 range and the unique Unimog will be demonstrated on the 4x4 track area. Gargash will present the entire Mercedes-Benz range from the B-Class Sports Tourer to the McLaren SLR to a MCV 500 Coach!

The 2007 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class that will be on display at the Sharjah Motor Show is an exceptional model featuring the new V8-engine, offering up to 388 horsepower and a peak torque rating of 530 Nm. It can reach 100 kph in 5.5 seconds. The luxury two-door model features extensive use of high-strength steel alloys of varying thickness in the panels and structure, combined with liberal reinforcements of transmission tunnel, cross struts and rear bulkhead, which ensures bending resistance and minimizes vibration.

The new GL 500 can be ordered with a powerful V8 engine and features 7 G-Tronic transmission - a seven-speed automatic gearbox with selectable gears. The luxurious, spacious off-road model comfortably seats seven; the electronically operated third row of seats stows into the floor to create a flat load surface in the cargo bay. The standard four-wheel-drive system works in conjunction with adjustable air suspension and speed-sensitive power steering. The GL 500 is fitted with the usual high level of amenities and safety standards synonymous with the Mercedes-Benz range, such as two-stage front airbags for driver and passenger, seat-mounted side airbags in the first and second rows and window curtain airbags spanning all three rows of seats.

The two latest AMG models — the Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG and E 63 AMG are also show stoppers. Both models are similar to their 5.4-litre predecessors in appearance, but use the brand new 6.3-litre naturally-aspirated V8 instead. They offer up to 515 horsepower, and can reach 100 kph in 4.5 seconds with a maximum torque rating of 630 Nm. They are now fitted with the AMG Speedshift 7G-Tronic transmission as well, new for 2007.

With such an exciting array of models on display, it is widely anticipated that sales will be high throughout the five day exhibition.
