Each year DIFF, one of the region's significant film festivals, absorbs nearly 200 temporary staff to assist in the operational aspect of the festival. With positions filled for Theatre Operations, Box Office, Volunteer Management and Guest Relations departments, the DIFF operations team has grown to include both professionals and students from a cross section of nationalities seeking international experience.
Commenting on the huge popularity of the Job Fair, Masoud Amralla Al Ali, Masoud Amralla Al Ali, Artistic Director of Arab Programming and coordinator general of the Arab Film Competition said, DIFF:
"By hosting a world class event such as the Dubai International Film Festival, we are constantly looking to invest in the community by giving them a home grown festival to be proud about. At the same time, we would also like to express our appreciation of their generous support to the festival."
"The Job Fair serves this purpose by offering unique work placements to interested individuals living in the UAE. It also gives us an opportunity to provide rich experiences that will further their individual careers."
Several of those who supported the festival in the past two editions have returned to take up similar assignments this year, validating the programme's high success and popularity.
As the festival approaches its opening, the DIFF management continues to encourage interested applicants to submit their résumés online at www.careercentre.ae. All DIFF applicants must be bi-lingual speakers (English and Arabic), 21 years of age and residents of the UAE.
The third edition of DIFF will run from 10-17 December, 2006.
