DigitalSkys to partner with Envivio

This event will mark the beginning of a new partnership for DigitalSkys, with Envivio Inc., leading technology provider of IP based MPEG-4 video systems and solutions for telcos, enterprises and broadcasters.

Envivio Inc. is the global leader in MPEG-4 technology providing IP video convergence solutions from mobile to HD. DigitalSkys is an Envivio approved reseller and systems integrator in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the IPTV and broadcast markets. At GITEX 2006, DigitalSkys will be demonstrating two Envivio® solutions, SDTV news contribution and IPTV distribution services.

The SDTV news contribution solution features the 4Caster™ B3 encoder and the 4View™ D1 professional decoder. The demonstrations at the stand will show how Envivio AVC/H.264 products deliver the highest quality video at below 2 Mbps with extremely low latency to meet the rigorous requirements of broadcasters.

The Envivio IPTV video headend demonstration features the 4Caster B3 encoder and an interactive, standards-based, next generation middleware. IPTV video and interactive services can be delivered in two ways. One, over a managed network using existing infrastructure or two, the video headend and middleware can be hosted with services delivered via VSAT networks. The solution offers IPTV service providers the most advanced compression capabilities with the highest quality video for bandwidth constrained applications.
