Canon Middle East set to launch 50 new products at GITEX 2006

To mark its presence at the region's premier IT platform, Canon is launching an unprecedented number of products at this year's event with a total of 50 new products launched across the fields of Consumer Imaging and Business Solutions.

Showcasing at this year's event is a brand new line of professional and business orientated products such as large format printers, black and white as well as colour copiers, document scanners, laser multifunction machines, A3+ photo printers.

"GITEX is the largest platform of its kind in the region, which allows us to be present side by side with other major key players in the industry showcasing our latest products and technologies, and enables us to reach and communicate to the widest possible audience," said Mohamed Salama, Marketing Manager , CME.

"This year Canon Middle East is launching more products than ever before and the event will see us building on previous ranges with a more distinct segmentation of products aimed at better defined target groups," concluded Mohamed Salama, Marketing Manager, CME.

Launching at GITEX this year are some of Canon's latest key products such as the Compact Photo Printer Selphy ES1, which will set new standards for compact photo printing. Also launching at the event is the next generation D-SLR - EOS 400D which is predicted to take the lead as the world's most popular camera, along with the world's smallest HDV1080i (High Definition Video) camcorder in HV-10E.

In addition, Canon will be showcasing its new flagship camera from the Digital Ixus range - the Digital Ixus 900Ti, finished in precision-crafted titanium. Also topping the bill is the introduction of the new intuitive user interface - the Easy Scroll Wheel in Pixma Photo All-in-One models along with the Pixma Mini Compact Photo Printer.

In the Laser SFP & MFP range, i-SENSYS SFP & MFP products will be added to Canon's existing range, totaling up to 27 Laser products, which addresses the needs of small to medium establishments. Quick First Print (QFP) technology(combination of On Demand Fixing, On-demand Toner & High performance controller), is a key development in i-SENSYS Laser products, which enables faster print output & increased efficiency. With QFP, it takes less than 9 secs to print a document

While Canon's Business Solution will showcase the ultimate mid range solution for demanding production environments, designed to effortlessly cope with the toughest of schedules. Canon's new iR7105 prints at a super-quick 105 pages per minute and is configurable with a range of finishing options unmatched at this end of the market.

Digital colour adds impact and professionalism to the business communications and is fast becoming the standard in the workplace. As pioneers of the world's first canon with the new digital full colour product continues to lead the field with innovative new technologies which bring speed, image quality and performance with all new range of color product (iRC4580i-iRC3380i-imagepressC1)

By matching the right colour printing solutions to the right people, everyone can maximize their use of colour, without needless waste and spiraling costs which can be offered from Canon's portfolio.

There will also be a strong focus on the new Large Format Printers at this year's Gitex (Canon's first 60" wide LFP as well as desktop LFP).

The Canon stand is located at Hall 2, stand F2-1 and will feature a photo studio with professional fashion photographer and models taking part in a live fashion shoot. Canon also has a dedicated area for professional photographers to test its latest state of the art lenses as well as an interactive game in which visitors to the stand can win a range of Canon products such as digital video camcorders, inkjet printers and digital cameras.
