- PRESS RELEASE
STME, the Middle East's leading enterprise storage solution provider and integrator, has announced 75 per cent growth in the third quarter of 2006 compared to the same period last year.
As part of the company's ongoing expansion plans, STME recently completed a restructuring process within the company and added new positions within the hierarchy to keep up with the growth and success. Jocelyn Al Adwani, previously the Deputy CEO of the company, is now the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
STME also announced the appointment of Kazia Kantor as the company's Chief Operating Officer. A qualified chartered accountant, Kantor has held senior positions in finance and business development in a number of companies in UK, such as Inchcape, Grand Metropolitan, Aegis, Central Television and Coats Vivella. She has also held non-executive positions with British Rail, Somerfield Holdings and Airtours. Kantor has served as the Director of the Manchester Business School and is currently on the Audit Committee of Imperial College, London.
"The pace of growth that STME is witnessing currently required the organisation structure to be slightly revamped to achieve maximum organisational and managerial efficiency. Today STME is one of the leaders in providing a full range of storage solutions and this has been possible because of the expertise of our management and staff," said Jocelyn Al Adwani, CTO, STME.
Through a series of presentations during Gitex, STME experts will highlight the company's wide range of solutions that enable protection, storage, and management of information. Yasser Wardany, STME Director of Sales, will deliver a presentation on 'CIO challenges and rapid data growth', Thomas Bretcher, STME Sr. Manager for Consultancy Services, will deliver a presentation on 'Consultancy: Closing the Business / IT Gap', and other executives of STME will provide presentations on various key topics.
"Gitex will allow customers to compare and choose from a comprehensive range of information storage, protection and management solutions. It will also provide a unique opportunity to explore the most innovative technologies in this arena. We believe that our participation in the event along with Symantec and NetApp will have a significant effect on STME's business development, as well as on the development of this market in the Middle East as a whole," added Al Adwani.
Working in partnership with best-of-breed suppliers, STME advises and designs solutions for clients based on their business needs, offering assessment surveys and solutions that enable replication, virtualization, backup/recovery and archiving, SAN design and NAS solutions.
STME's success has primarily been due to the fact that it is the only company in the region to totally focus on Enterprise Storage solutions. STME has over 400 customers across 11 countries in the Middle East within different sectors, including telecommunications, finance and oil & gas. It also has several leading customers from the government, transportation, utility, manufacturing and retail sectors.
STME's participation at Gitex in conjunction with NetApp and Symantec follows the recently concluded Symantec Vision Technology Roadshow held in Riyadh on November 7, 2006 where STME was the Gold Sponsor. As a platinum channel partner of Symantec, STME plays an active role in Symantec's Technical Services Partner program (TSPP) in the Middle East, working closely with Symantec and other technology partners to deliver the highest quality solutions to its customers across the region. STME is also the only Registered Service Provider and the Elite Platinum Partner of NetApp in the region. Platinum Partner status is awarded to those resellers that sell NetApp solutions in multiple countries. The Registered Service Provider is recognized by NetApp as a quality provider of support services to NetApp customers.
