Some of the exciting new services that will be demonstrated at Etisalat's stand are as below.
Location-based Services:
This service allows Etisalat mobile phone users to find nearby places of interest by sending an SMS to a defined number. MMS and eWAP users can receive a map image of the area, with the places of interest marked.
Mobile TV:
Etisalat will demo the Mobile TV service. In the GULFCOMMS stand, 3D eyeglasses systems with earphones will be demonstrated using which users can view videos, and receive notification when there is an incoming call.
Push mail:
Etisalat is launching a service for mobile customers similar to the BlackBerry solution, but which does not require any special handset or hardware. Using eWAP access, Etisalat mobile customers can download an application that can then enable them to link any email account to their mobile account. New email arriving at that account will then be directed to the mobile phone instantly.
Instant Messenger for Mobiles:
Etisalat mobile customers need to download an application to their mobile phones, which will then enable them to stay in contact with their web messenger contacts even when they are on the move. This service will be on demonstration at GULFCOMMS.
Voice SMS:
The Voice SMS service enables Etisalat mobile customers to send and receive voice clips in the same way that they send and receive text SMS. This will be demonstrated at the Etisalat stand at GULFCOMMS.
e4me:
Etisalat customers who have an e4me account can now also recharge other accounts without undergoing the process of getting the account added to the user's profile. e4me registered users can also view detailed bills for their own accounts, and can order Wasel4me and get it delivered free of cost.
At the GULFCOMMS and GITEX exhibition areas, Etisalat has also installed machines for visitors to charge their mobile phone batteries. Etisalat is ensuring that no one need miss important calls or opportunities because their mobile battery is running low. All models of mobile phones can be charged at these kiosks, and this is offered free of charge.
Etisalat has also set up complimentary Internet kiosks, which will enable people to access the Internet from the exhibition halls.
