This year the event will look to continue building on the past events agenda, and will have as this year's primary focus, for both the conference and exhibition 'Awareness & Involvement - The Next Step'.
The difference this year is that the organizers have opened the attendance to the public as well as trade. A brave decision you might agree, but maybe an essential one at this stage.
The conference intends to confront these questions and to look at recent developments made in working with local communities and organizations to achieve lasting improvements in road safety.
All road users have views about how their areas might be improved. Speakers at this conference will look at a range of approaches to identifying those views and to working with people to achieve common aims.
Recent policy initiatives at both national and local levels have attempted to place road safety as part of the debate about quality of life, urban improvement and tackling disadvantage. This conference will assess these developments and how such approaches can help to gain community support for policy development.
Over the last two years, RSTM has built a reputation as one of the leading global conferences regarding the discussion of road safety topics and issues that need not only to be addressed but also followed up and implemented to try to ensure safer roads for all users, which always has been a public need.
Traffic safety is an important theme around the world, and in highlighting this theme for 2007, RSTM is again looking to use the event to discuss and develop ideas, concepts and campaigns necessary to addressing the public's attitude towards driving safely on the roads and to remind drivers that it is through their efforts of driving safely we will see the tragic death toll being decreased.
