The event will be held under the patronage of H.H. Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Selecting Bahrain to host this significant event affirms the Kingdom's international reputation in the field of safety, security and historical relationship with ASIS. The Society is the largest non-profit organisation dedicated to security issues with more than 33,000 members worldwide. This year, the annual conference will also witness the renewal of ASIS's tradition as it had been organising the event in Bahrain for twenty years till 2000.
This substancial conference and the accompanying exhibition aims to highlight the most modern concepts and the latest developments in security, safety and communications through a number of themes which will be presented by a number of internationally renowned speakers in corporate, plants and establishments' safety and security sectors such as Eng. Khalid Al Faleh, Senior Deputy President for Industrial Relationships, Saudi Aramco, Mr. Richard Clark, an expert in terrorism affairs and engineer of anti-terrorism policy in the former US President Bill Clinton's Administration, Dr. Jessica Stern, a lecturer at Harvard University who is an expert in international terrorism. and author of a number of books in the related field and Dr. Flynt Leverett, who is an expert in the international energy affairs and former executive director of Middle East affairs in the National Security Council of the White House till 2003.
This is in addition to organising 32 workshops and lectures to be presented by a number of specialists from corporate security and safety, security of information and e-commerce networks, communications, security of financial institutions and banks, anti-money laundering, maritime security, airport security, anti-terrorism, security of oil facilities and petrochemical plants. Moreover, lectures on crime-combating, protection of VIPs, management and leadership science and disaster management will also be presented.
The Conference will be accompanied by an exhibition where a variety of specialised companies will showcase their products in the field of security equipment and state-of-the-art technologies.
ASIS International Middle East Security Conference & Exhibition 2006 will be held under the theme of 'Security Solutions for a Booming Economy' whereby ASIS International will dedicate its efforts to forge the efficiency and productivity of security practices by developing programmes and educational materials that cover all significant security topics such as organising the Society's seminars and annual exhibitions in addition to specific security issues. It provides professionals from the security sector with the access to a complete range of programmes and services and additionally publishes the only monthly magazine that focuses on security issues and security management, which will further enhance security performances.
ASIS International Middle East Security is the largest non-profit organisation dedicated to security issues and human welfare. The Society is committed to developing security awareness and providing security solutions to protect industrial and non-industrial assets.
ASIS International in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry & Commerce, Kingdom of Bahrain represented by the Bahrain Exhibition & Convention Authority (BECA) and Elegant Services Group, are pleased to invite all members of the public to take part in this significant event this year which will have positive effects on the individual and corporate levels.
The event will be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) and will remain open to all trade visitors from 10: am - 6:00 pm on the 4th & 5th of November and from 10: 00 am - 1:00 pm on the 6th of November 2006
