Emirates Holidays hits the road in Dubai, launches in South Africa

  • PRESS RELEASE

Emirates Holidays is celebrating record double-digit growth in the GCC by taking to the roads of Dubai aboard a fleet of specially-branded Emirates Airline crew buses - while revving up its overseas presence by launching sales operations in South Africa.

The bus promotion and South African launch both underline the growing popularity of Emirates Holidays' quality packages with holiday-seekers, both in the Gulf and Middle East region, and in key overseas markets.

Six eye-catching Emirates crew buses plying the roads of Dubai showcase Emirates Holidays' four "World of Choice" brochures, which offer almost 1,000 holiday products in Europe & North America, Africa & the Indian Ocean, Asia & Australasia, and the Middle East.

Since launching the brochures in April, the tour operating arm of Emirates has achieved record double-digit growth for its holiday packages in the GCC countries. Overall tourist numbers in the first six months of the fiscal year (April-September) showed a substantial increase compared to the same period last year.

Destinations in Asia and Europe were most popular, with 2006 FIFA™ World Cup host country Germany topping the list. Other Emirates Holidays destinations with increased popularity are the Maldives, Australia, South Africa, Singapore, Austria, India, Mauritius, and the Seychelles - which had high double-digit growth in June and July.

With the exception of football fans travelling to Germany this year, couples and families have been the mainstay of the company's customer base. Popular packages are theme parks in the U.K. and Australia, and safaris in South Africa.

Emirates Holidays' sales launch in South Africa -which joins existing overseas operations in Russia and India - will target potential Dubai holidaymakers attracted by the emirate's growing worldwide prominence, as well as those looking for holidays elsewhere, whether it be a honeymoon getaway at an exotic spa, a luxury ocean cruise, or the thrills of a theme park adventure.

The "World of Choice" brochures offer Emirates Holidays' biggest-ever range of packages, reflecting its continued expansion and the ever-increasing global reach of Emirates' route network.
